The Nexon grabbed eyeballs at the Indian auto expo 2016 with its impossible-to-ignore design. The car is based on the Indian automaker’s new ‘impact’ design pattern, which will also be seen in their upcoming sub compact sedan+ , the Tigor.
The Nexon features six-speed manual transmission with a 1.5L Revotorq diesel engine that may produce 110PS of power and a peak torque of 260Nm.

Nexon sports an advanced infotainment system, featuring a dash-top touchscreen designed by Harman Kardon.
This mode of Tata, can mark its entry within the rapidly growing SUV segment later this year. It’ll take on the likes of the Ford EcoSport, Maruti Suzuki’s Vitara Brezza and Mahindra’s TUV300.

The lovely looking 17″ alloy wheels enhance the stance of the Nexon even further and the roof rails do not look out of place. The cabin too has worked on to enhance the experience of the occupants. The use of premium materials and surface texture offers an upmarket feel to the car. Adding convenience to its occupants ar the bottle and cup holders, multiple utility areas, handbag hangers, laptop & iPad trays so showing that Tata Motors is in with the age. There is also automatic climate control with rear AC vents.
On the protection front, the Tata Nexon is equipped with front dual airbags, ABS with EBD with Corner Stability control. ISOFIX at the rear outboard and a rear-view camera interface with an inbuilt touchscreen infotainment system.
Subcompact SUV Specifications Revealed
As far as engines are concerned, the Nexon can receive a 1.5 liter Revotorq diesel engine. Now, none of the cars on sale in India come with this engine and Nexon will be the first and so we expect it to be each powerful and fuel efficient. There is a 6-speed manual transmission on offer and according the the folks at Tata Motors, the NVH level on the car has worked on for a ‘class-leading’ experience. There is not any word of a petrol engine on the car yet.
There are an entire bunch of features on the Nexon provided by Tata Motors and these include an advanced picture show system, that includes a dash-top touchscreen exclusively designed by Harman, a comprehensive speaker system for surround sound effect and intelligent features like voice command recognition. It also comes with next-gen connectivity with a host of smartphone applications.
We don’t yet know when the Nexon can make its debut in India. However, it’ll be in this year and sometime before Diwali. As way as the price of the car is concerned, the Nexon can probably undercut its rivals. A strategy that paid dividends with the Tiago and thus we expect it to start just below ₹ 7 lakh and go right up to ₹ 9 lakh.
