Hizbul Mujahideen : A threat to India

It all started in 1989,Muhammad Ahsan Dar Founded Hizbul Mujahideen in September as a Kashmir separatist group. Hence The Current commander of hizbul Mujahideen now Sayeed Salahudeen.

In 1991 , A organization named Tahreek-e-Jihad-e-islami (TJI) merge with Hizbul Mujahideen and thr strength increased to 10,000. In this years rivalries increased within Mujahideen. Hence reach to killing 21 people in pak administered Kashmir, in a village near border in 1998. In 1990s, many voices within Mujahideen including commander given a meaning less promises of peaceful approaches to Kashmir people. Since 2000, surprise unilateral ceasefire declaration from the outskirts of Srinagar done by the Dar and with four other Mujahideen commanders. The ceasefire immediately confirmed by the PAK based commander Sayeed Salahudeen. In 2002, Dar was threaten as agent of RAW (Indian intelligence agency Research and Analysis Wing) and expelled from Mujahideen Group. Dar and several other ex-Mujahideens leaders assassinated between 2001 and 2003.

Foreign Involvement:-

Hizbul Mujahideen designated a terrorist Organisation by Government of India, EU (European Union) and US (United States) Since 1989.

Claims have made that Pakistan‘s ISI Agency (Inter-Services Intelligence)  have provided training and funding to Hizbul Mujahideen. It is also claimed that Jamaat-i-Islami is also founded by Hizbul Mujahideen at the order of ISI to counter JKLF (Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front) who  fighting for independence of Kashmir.

On 8 July 2016, a Hizbul Mujahideen Commander, 22-year old Burhan Muzaffar Wani, shot dead by Indian Army And Indian security forces. In Burhan Wani Funeral more than 50,000 people joined. And there was mass protests in Kashmir Valley. Many militants of Hizbul Mujahideen also participated in Wani’s Funeral.

 Kashmir conflict :-

It’s a territorial Conflit between India and Pakistan started from 1947 partition. Hence India and Pakistan have fought three wars over Kashmir. which are Indo-Pakistani wars of 1947 and 1965 atlast  Kargil War. Approximately 43% of the region of Jammu and Kashmir claimed by India. And India currently controls jammu, the Kashmir vally,Ladakh and Siachen Glacier. Hence Indian Cliams challenged by Pakistan government and approximately 37 % of Kashmir namely Azad Kashmir and north areas. Since china took Aksai during Sino-Indian War in 1962 ,Which China Claimed over those territories.
