Samsung today officially announced the Samsung Pay launches in India, after a test phase of Early Access Program. Samsung Pay service can be accessed through Samsung’s standalone Android app, Samsung Pay. It will Work With All PoS Machines And Paytm.
Samsung Pay Launches In India
Samsung has partnered with several banks and payment service providers like Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Axis Bank, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, SBI Card and Standard Chartered Bank, Citibank(upcoming support) in India. It also supports wallet apps like Paytm and the government’s UPI apps. More banks and mobile wallets will supported soon.
Samsung Pay is a contactless payment service which supports NFC and MST (Magnetic Secure Transmission). Samsung Pay is support to debit and credit cards, digital mobile wallets. Samsung was working on it in India for a period of one year.
Right now it is only supported on selected Samsung smartphones – Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 edge, Galaxy S6 edge+, Galaxy A7 (2017), Galaxy A7 (2016), Galaxy A5 (2017) and Galaxy A5 (2016). Samsung Pay. It may expand to other devices too.

Hence, to use Samsung Pay, you need to install/update Samsung Pay app from Google Play Store. Then create a Samsung Account ID, and fill in required details of your debit or credit card.
At the time of payment on POS terminal, you can verify with Fingerprint scanner or Samsung PIN. Samsung pay will also support Samsung Gear S3 smartwatch soon. For offers and cashbacks using Samsung Pay Mastercard user will get exclusive benefits at Café Coffee Day, Barista and Pizza Hut.
However, Samsung Pay will not work with terminals on banks or ATM machine to deposit or withdraw cash or make transaction. Net banking is not supported presently.
Payments using QR code is possible like of Paytm., whereas BharatQR, not supported Samsung pay is in its First Phase of full-scale launch.
